Learn moreSustainably Reduce Lifecycle Costs
Infrastructure projects demand materials that perform reliably for decades with minimal intervention. GRP/FRP composites are inherently resistant to moisture, chlorides, de-icing salts and atmospheric corrosion — making them an ideal choice wherever traditional steel or concrete requires constant inspection and costly repair cycles.
NHC's pultruded profiles are up to 75% lighter than equivalent steel sections, significantly reducing structural loads on bridges and elevated structures, and cutting installation time and crane costs. Despite their low weight, they match or exceed the mechanical performance required by international engineering standards.

Key Infrastructure Sectors

Bridge & Elevated Structures
GRP cable trays, handrails, and deck panels are widely used on highway and railway bridges. Their non-magnetic, non-conductive nature ensures electromagnetic compatibility with sensitive rail signalling systems, while corrosion-free performance eliminates the repainting cycles associated with steel.
NHC has supplied GRP components to bridge projects across Asia and the Middle East, with documented service lives exceeding 25 years.
Railway & Metro Infrastructure
In tunnel environments, GRP cable ladders prevent the spread of fire and eliminate galvanic corrosion between dissimilar metals. NHC's cable ladder systems comply with fire retardancy standards (UL94 V-0, IEC 60695) and have been installed in metro rail projects with demanding fire-safety certification requirements.
Municipal & Water Treatment
Sewage treatment plants, pump stations and water intake structures expose structural components to aggressive chemical environments. GRP handrails, grating and platforms resist hydrogen sulphide, chlorine and dilute acids — delivering a maintenance-free working environment and keeping long-term operating costs low.
